Actually, there is historical precedent for it. In John Scurr and Mike Chappel's history of the Malayan Emergency, there is an artist's depiction of an officer of the Cameronian Regiment wearing solid hose with Douglas tartan tops. I've also seen a depiction of a piper of the 10th Princess Mary's Gurkha Rifles wearing tartan hose in Stewart Hunting with diced tops.

    Regards,

    Todd

    Hello,
Between those two choices, I would go with the orange for the main body of the hose.

I missed this from when I originally looked at this thread last night, to when I posted a minute ago. With this tartan I think those last would really be the right thing to go with, tartan hose with orange and green diced tops. Seriously. With this tartan, go BIG.

I like the orange the best. Admittedly, I'm a Fraser so I'm partial to the tartan to begin with

Question...could the leg match the blue and have the cuff on the left?

    Pardon my improvised photo-chop

All in all, I like the general appearance except that the green leg is just too close to Lime green to be in such a large area

I still think the Orange body is the way to go.

With the Prince Charlie I would have to say Diced or full Argyll hose would be better, I tend to keep my Argyll Tops for dressy wear not formal wear. Nonetheless though even with full Argyll or Diced hose the prominent colour should be Orange.

Hey guys-I wanted to mention again that these are one single hose-The argyll cuffs are connected to the hose , so its all one piece. the individual did not want full argyll, not full plain.
