When my son feels like being in a kilt, he has a Stillwater. I was proud of him, he wore it two days in a row last week.

Remember to Re-Cycle
I bought my son a kilt when he was in his early teens and fitted him out with a balmoral, a sporran, an Irish claddagh buckle belt, a modified Spencer jacket with vest, kilt hose, and flashes. Two years later, I boxed up the kilt (hand-made in wool blend Black Watch), the jacket and vest, the balmoral, and the flashes and resold them for $300 including shipping. I sold the sporran 2 weeks ago for $15. I came out well ahead on the deal. Keep this in mind when your kids outgrow their kilts. You can pass them down to cousins, resell them within your local community, or post them for sale here. If you do decide to spend a little more today, you can recoup it in the future. Having actively priced out vendors for kid's kilts as a past director of the Houston Highland Games Children's Athletics, the cheapest source is a grandmother who can sew.
Good hunting!

PS. I would recommend my kiltmaker, but he quit the business due a chronic illness. He handmade my son's kilt and flashers for $75 plus $30 in material. For pictures, search under user triolamj in the Photo Gallery.
