Very nice. How hard was the material to sew? I want to try a thick tweed like material for a kilt, I am just wondering how hard it is to hand sew.
    Wear in good health,

Love the kilt, love the shirt, love the scarf, love the shoes & socks, love the color of the jacket - but not the jacket length. It seems a shame to cover up all those wonderful pleats. For me a shorter length jacket in the same color would do the trick.

Oh yeah - VERY nice photos too!

Thanks everyone for the great comments, I confess to enjoying "colour" as is evidenced here!!

Rex: unsure of the weight it's a much thicker fabric than any of my other kilts, so it's a little deceptive, but it's got to be in the 20-22 oz bracket.

Sara: it was surprising easy to sew, the wool has a lovely feel and a great heft to it, but it has a softish sense to it. It was all hand sewn, except for the waist band, and my machine was struggling with that as well...But I completed it in just under 2 days, I was patient but consistent I think, stopping for coffee as often as I could.

Phil: thank you, yes perhaps the jacket does cover a bit too much, but it's a favourite one of mine, and I thought the colour combo was great as well.I'll just have to look out something else, remake something, or make something completely from scratch, that is if I find the right fabric, and I'll pass your approval of the photos to my tame cameraman, he will be delighted!

    I echo Phil's comments.

For a second, I smiled when I saw Jock Scot's name as having made a comment, I thought, perhaps a change of heart. ...and then I read your comment. Not quite.

[with all respect, no offence meant to you Jock, of course... ] See, I even spelled "offence" in the British style

Honestly, I am appreciating it more that certain styles and designs don't work for everybody. For me, for example, I'm pretty liberal with my appreciation of non-trad kilts, but I just cannot make myself to like those runway pics of shabby, shoddy, "fashion" runAway runway men's skirts (they're not kilts!!! please!) in a thread posted not too long ago.
