The blade is kind of an oblong, narrow leaf shape that tapers to a point. The point is, of course, very sharp, and both sides of the blade itself have a sharp edge, as well.

That's interesting. I hadn't come across a sgien dubh with that type of blade. I've been looking at the daywear type on the sgien dubh page for a while now.

That bone carving that you describe sounds really neat. Kind of like reverse scrimshaw. Sounds very nice.
