Worry not about the English, most of us are American, and do not do well with English either.
There are some knitters on the board, and some have posted their efforts in the D.I.Y. section. From the main page click on the Bold "Forums" on the left, then scroll down to the D.I.Y. section. There is plenty of information there.
I haven't knitted hose for many years. I used to knit when I worked overnight shifts in the Fire Brigade.
