Greast photo. IMHO all the hat needs is a band of XMTS tartan around the base of the crown.

Great photo! The hat may not be "traditional," but I'd say it adheres to the good Scots sense of practicality and adaptability.

It IS.....I love that tartan, so about 18 months ago I bought 6 yards of it on deep, deep discount at Fraser and Kirkbright. I made 4 x-skirts (mini's) from the cloth as prep for writing the X-Skirt manual and I had 6 yards of 23 inch wide tartan left over. I had to do the smallest hem you can imagine, and it's a machine-sewn kilt and a little bit short but I REALLY like it.

And it just so happens to work out that 'way 'way back I have some Lindsay cousins. So there's my excuse!

Another question, is it a pv tartan?
I was afraid that the tartan wouldn't look as good in pv.
I'm about to buy kilts in pv so i can wear them to work outside and be able to throw it in the wash. Can't do that with wool....

    Oh yeah.... Looking good ! ! !

No, that's a wool/poly blend tartan from Fraser & Kirkbright. I got a hank of that material as well. Light weight, but really nice fabric.

Looking good, Alan. I wish I were a few decades younger...
