That must have been some honey-do list.

Congrats anyway - this is just part of my continuing emasculation rant.
No emasculation scenario intended--it was meant to be a pun. However, my wife and I are closing in on 20 years of marriage and she is still everything and more to me as she was when I saw her at the county fair when we were kids.
Like many couples now, we have to have 2 incomes to get by. Currently we are both getting temporary furloughs this summer. To create a tartan, have it hand made and registered is an investment. For us it was a shared desire, but also a shared concern about the expense.
I'm thankful for people like Matt Newsome who are not only knowledgable, but also skilled and accessible.

Yep - I have one of these
Usually you can rent them very cheap - like $10 or $20 a day from most rental places - saves alot of grief and pain
that pattern is great - what did you draw that with??

Thanks to the rabble for your advice on the tartan. As soon as I have a picture I'll post the new "Oren Peterson", Peterson surname tartan!
If you would kindly report your experiences of the processes involved in registering your own tartan, it would be great. I'm sure all of us would be interested in learning what the real investment in time, effort and money for getting one's own design registered is.
