Those buckle shoes look really good too, and a nice price at $90 as well!

I've got a pair of them, they're suprisingly comfortable for straight lasted shoes. I wear them with my 1745 re-enactment kit (which is in-progress still, but coming along)

How shiney are they?
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

The heavy weight are about the weight of medium wool hose. The regular are just a little heavier than men's dress socks. One size fits most actually works in this case. I wear size 14 shoes and have large muscular legs, and these are long enough and big enough to be able to fold over my garters just fine. MUCH cooler than wool, for Washington DC's humid summer. I received my order promptly and as ordered. Recommended.

How are these on the soles of your feet? The reason I ask, is that I bought some cotton hose form Hamilton Dry Goods. They had a fairly open weave and were not to kind to the soles of my feet. I think I've heard this called waffle foot. I can wear them, but I have to wear a pair of ankle socks underneath.

The weave on these is not especially open. A touch looser than wool, but I didn't notice any problem.

Thanx for the info. I've been on the fence about cotton hose and now I may try a few pair. That's what I really like about this forum, you get real feedback on products. Thanx again.

Just received a few pair of these cotton hose and will have a road-test report shortly. Out of the box, they are plenty long enough for a decent fold over and the weave does not appear to be so open as to cause the dreaded "waffle foot" problem (Haven't experienced that myself, but it sounds dreadful).
Here's a quick snapshot:

updated a few hours later: I've found these hose to be quite comfortable and cool as well (it's very humid and hotter than here today.
