Wow, thanks for all the compliments, everyone!
For the front and back, I used some surprisingly inexpensive leather, which I bought from Tandy's (www.tandyleatherfactory.com). I think I paid around $65 for 14 sq ft. Not sure though, I bought it about a year ago. The gusset is just scrap garment leather. I believe I got that from sort of a grab bag, from a local arts/crafts store, although all their leather and leatherworking tools are Tandy's brand, too.
After buying a sporran from a regular company and barely being able to fit my cell phone, wallet, and keys in it, I thought I could do a better job myself. So I was sure to make this one big enough to be able to reach into it. When worn, it still looks the same size as the store-bought sporrans.
For the other DIYers, please feel free to "borrow" anything you like, and I'm always open to tips/hints/critiques/etc.
Thanks again!

I know what you mean about getting a big ol' paw down in one of those "store bought" sporrans. I really like your design
