true, but the minority 2 scottish members, and the fact they were formed while attending college at Dundee, and they are now based in Glasgow, in my eyes at least, makes them a 'scottish band'.

proclaimers, how can I forget those glasses and teeth, brings back instant memories of college days gone awry.

another one I remember, lately I've also getting into electronica/lounge and Boards of Canada are awesome as well

Amy MacDonald's a favorite of mine, and since nobody else has mentioned them, Mull Historical Society is fantastic, as are the Peat Bog Faeries. There are also three singers from the Isle of Skye named Fiona MacKenzie who recently did a tour together and had a really neat interview on NPR. They are all fabulous.

It has been a few years and I think the band is now disbanded but I love the music of a group called Silly Wizard. There were two Cunningham brothers who were the phenomenal core musicians of the group and I believe they have gone on to individual careers, as has the lead singer, although for the life of me I can hear his voice but not remember his name.

    Dougie MacLean also.

There used to be a celtic music hour on NPR Saturday early evenings called Thistle and Shamrock that showcased celtic musicians, and is where I first heard celtic music on a regular basis. Anybody know if that is still around? Host was a woman named Fiona Ritchie (not sure how I rememberd that tidbit either) I believe.
