Craig,
I don't know your last name
I don't know the names of your children,
or even know if you have children
but you are my friend
I have never been to your house
I have never shared a meal with you
or even shaken your hand
but you are my friend
I look forward to the things you write
Always laugh at all your jokes,
or at least groan good naturedly at them
because you are my friend
We have shared a fictional train ride together to the Great Golden Hall
We have shared a bit of carved and painted wood shaped like an airship,
passed between us through a chain of goodwill
because we are friends
You are in my thoughts
and my hopes
and whatever time you have, I wish you peace
my friend
Sincerely
James

The words I want to post are not allowed under our forum rules. They are short four letter words and Anglo-Saxon in nature. You probably have voiced them yourself of late.
Sending up billows of smoke for you my friend. Know you'll make your peace.
Know pancreatic cancer all too well and you're right, most sadly its a fast one, don't waste a second.
Know you'll live forever on this board...an icon of kilted wisdom and fun.
Hugging you, sniveling, and laughing a bit too. You're off to the Great Mystery sooner than you'd planned, but we'll all catch up soon enough. Gotta be kilted on the other side...send us back a sign.
Mucho JuJu your way my friend.

Cancer is horrid and a lottery as to whether you get it or which kind you get.
When I was diagnosed I was told I had "drawn the short straw" yet mine was treatable and worth the 6 months of hell when I went through the chemo.
Yours sounds a shorter straw than mine was but I learnt to value each day and not take them for granted.
The battle is always worth it and you will be in my thoughts and hopes to win yours.

Oh dear....one does not know what to say at a time like this. If positive thoughts count for anything, please know that Steve's and mine are flooding you and your family right now, and in the days, weeks and months to come.

Well Retro, I can only wish you the best, massive juju going out your way, and prayers for both you and your family.
Having had cancer in my family I know the strain it places on them.
Things will be ok and your life will still be lived, just make sure you live it to the fullest.
Hard to 'man-hug' through a forum, but here I am doing it right now bud.
