Kilts are definitely the comfy choice for the outdoors...

I just spent a week in the Sierra Nevada, backpacking with the Luminous Joan, and was in a kilt about 80% of the time.

The Mrs. and I spent a few days camping a little over a week ago. I too spent most of the time kilted. One discovery I made this time round was that one is vulnerable to mosquito bites in places that are not a problem in pants!

I have to admit I have never camped in my life, well not what many would call camping(!) - I like a proper bed and my creature comforts far too much. However, since I have been a full-time kilt wearer for over ten years now, I enjoy my kilts indoors or out, no matter what I am doing. Until recently I thoroughly enjoyed my country and coastal walks (sadly no longer possible) and it always seemed 'right' to be kilted in the open air. Indoor kilting does appear to conjur up thoughts of the more formal events, and therefore dress, on the whole but lounging around at home in the kilt is equally 'right' for me.
Take care,
Ham.

They are good for walking the dogs on the beach on foggy mornings in Carmel, CA too.

Best regards,

I think that for most of us we wear a kilt because we enjoy the comfort of a kilt. When we wear it we wear it where ever we go. As for indoor versus outdoor pictures I wonder how much if that is relater to the even and would you normally have a camera with you. Many of the indoor pictures are at social events where a camera would not be unexpected.
I don't carry a camera when I go to Lowes but I do wear a kilt. The though of having a picture taken at Wal-Mart is not high on my list, but a picture at Irish Bar in Westminster was nice to have because of the good friends and fun I want to remember.
If you see abbreviations, initials or acronyms you do not know the Xmarks FAQ section on abbreviations may help.
