The mirror shot is always a bit of a giveaway, isn't it. We can't get away with it when wearing a kilt.
I like the pictures of the architecture. Quite amazing the almost universal use of pan tiles on the older buildings. And quite a few with a cut-away gable end.
This is one picture that intrigued me. Just right of centre, is that a life-boat station? or maybe a training area? There seem to be four different types of life-boat and four different launch methods. Any ideas?

Very nice! The rolling hills of Rogaland are indeed considered pancake country. I grew up in Rogaland, on an island about an hour north of Stavanger. Good to see that you caught summer in the act, sadly the summer you experienced was probably all of it, lol.

Thanks for the kind comments so far everyone!
Approaching our berth at Skagenkaien, Stavanger.

Some of the newer constructions on the opposite side of the harbour.

Once docked and off the ship these buildings on Skagenkaien looked colourful.

Beautiful pictures Trefor. It's always fun to see your own country described by others. It's good to see you had good weather on the trip.
Part of the newer construction at the harbour of Stavanger is actually a sandvollyball stadium built for the World Championships this summer.

View of Torget (The Market Place) in Stavanger. My ship can be seen in the background.

Statue of the Norwegian Author Alexander Kjelland. I don't think he is very famous outside of Norway in the way that authors like Henrik, Ibsen,Sigrid Undsett and Knut Hamsun are.

The rear entrance to the Domkirke (Cathedral). It is the oldest Cathedral in Norway and building was begun in the 1100s. The first Bishop was Reinald (or Reginald) from Winchester in England and it is dedicated to Saint Svithun (Swithin) who was also from Winchester and who is famous for the weather forecast that if it rains on his Saints Day (15th July) that it will rain for 40 days thereafter.
St Swithun's day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St Swithun's day if thou be fair
For forty days 'twill rain na mair
