Well done, Rex; absolutely brilliant!
And matching argyll hose are a must, I think.

Rex,
That is one gorgeous tartan. I can see that I must keep getting myself ready (lose weight and save money) for a Heatherfield kilt.
I have my goal, now I got to get there!!!

Hats Off Tae Ye!
Guid on ye, Rex!!! And a beautiful tartan to boot! You might even get those blood-and-guts traditionalists salivating with that new tartan design!

Rex is very pleased.
I'm sharing this now because it will be quite some time before I can have a kilt made from this, and I anticipate that it will travel many miles before it all comes together. Frankly, I think I've done a pretty good job keeping the jones in check (though my wallet may have suffered a little lately, I'm afraid), but it crops up here from time to time, "What can I wear if I don't belong to a clan." Well? Now there's "Heatherfield." I've been itching to say that this tartan was designed with the clan-less in mind, and anyone is welcome to wear it if it pleases them, too.
Regards,
Rex.

I am so happy for you Rex, I know what a long road you have traveled to get to this point and from the looks of things its been a worthwhile journey. In my humble opinion - this tartan has all the essential elements to make it the next Isle of Skye or the next Dutch Friendship tartan. Its brilliant, its beautiful, its a classic in the making.
It is, as someone else has said, a real humdinger!
Cheers!

Phil, thank you for your early encouragement. You are a class act, and I very much remember thinking to myself, if Phil approves, I'm on the right track.
Best regards,
Rex.

I hope you got to keep the sampler -- it looks like a ready-made version of what you sent off to have Isle of Skye tartan hose made. . .

For sure I still have it -- Hey! I hadn't thought of that yet.
Gee, thanks, Sydnie. That's what I needed - one more temptation.
