My wife and I usually cook up a nice long special dinner, just the two of us. The logs are on the fire, the music is on, and then we retire to the hot tub with a bottle of bubbly, which gets popped at midnight! We've got the same thing planned for this year, barring an invitation from the Sultanate of Oman!

As it stands now, I'll watch the new year come in from my recliner, watching a TV special. My wife, who rarely makes it to midnight, will likely be napping on the couch.
I miss fun. Fun was fun.

I might be transplanting trees, but nothing important.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

A girl I'm seeing invited me to her family's cabin in Door County.
...her family won't be there.

Portsmouth Olde Towne Scottish Walk earlier in the day; not sure about the night's activities. This will be the first time in many years I havn't been home at my parents where we have a big family get together starting with a meal of stew, tatties, peas and puff pastry. We might just have to throw our own party and keep the neighbours up. Wherever and whatever; there will be whisky and singing!

I'm twenty-three, and five feet nine, I'll go and be a sodger!

We are going on a train ride at Stanley Park follow by dinner at a Korea BBQ restaurant. There is a good chance that we may welcome the New Year at a Karaoke place.

For the last ten years, I've cooked a nine-course dinner for a rather large group of friends. Everyone chips in and helps out with cost and labour, but don't go near the kitchen, there be dragons!
But this year I simply couldn't be bothered, so I'll be having a much smaller group over (maybe eight people) and my Ukrainian friend has promised to cook for us!

Work will have me about a 1000 miles away from friends and family... I will probably relax and let the new year slip past without much fanfare..

I'm one of those odd federal employees who works almost every holiday, so no plans for me.

I will be attending a Hogmanay party at someone's home. The host is an Englishman and his wife is from Aberdeen. She makes GREAT toffee!! That reminds me, I have not RSVP'd yet.
