Arlen, you and Dianne are valued members here and this is a wonderful group of people, many of whom I am proud to call friends as well. We have all lived through your trials and tribulations getting through the red tape. I just hope that along with the hose comes a work permit soon.

    Best wishes,

    Brian

Great story, wonderful gift from an anonymous benefactor who will probably never reveal themselves, but is right now basking in the warmth of their own generosity. What goes round comes round. Good things happen to good people, and I know you have probably done something in your life to deserve this providence.

    Wow, what a nice surprise!

It wasn't me that did it, but I can confirm, since you were interested, that these are indeed House of Cheviot Hose. They are their "trellis" style and it looks like you got the brick red and loden green version.

I have a pair of the same style in navy and absolutely love them!

We sell them in the US, for anyone interested.

What a wonderful gesture, as someone who was in a very similar situation all I can say is the hose look great on you. I just took a position this week in graphic design and things are looking up, Catherine and I are moving to be nearer the new office.

Thank you for relating a neat story. There is so much that goes on in the world which is negative, its great to hear one like this. And blessins' on ya in the future.

One of the unwritten laws is "gratefully we give and gratefully we receive". One of the hardest things a man needs to learn is how to gratefully receive; we are oft the ones who give of ourselves the most, so often we believe wrongly we somehow are less if we we cannot.

I know not who the gentleman and scholar was who gifted these to you, but wear them in good health, and keep your head held high. Someday, when things are smoother sailing for you pass the kindness on to one not quite so blessed. Were we to remember that we are in this all together, the world would be an even finer place than it is.

Wonderful hose! I would love to have a pair like them!

    Cheers!ith:

It's always good to hear about this kind of genuine generosity; thank you for sharing the story.

There really is a river of goodwill and generosity that flows through this forum. Bravo to the author of this thoughtful act!

And nice hose, by the way!!
