I like the straight cut waistcoat. Where did you purchase the jacket and waistcoat?
The jacket and waistcoat are from Scottishkilts.net (tartanweb) the waistcoat was not 'straight cut' when I got it, it had the standard 'points' at the bottom. I had it altered.

It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Great photos, thanks for posting. Looks like great weather for a wedding, but I'll bet you get a lot of that down there (unlike dreary old Seattle).

It depends where you live in Texas. You see the hats and boots at various places, some places more than others. Like here in Dallas, you see very little, but step over to Fort Worth, and even the tourist are wearing them. Not unlike the Kilt, they (boots and/or hats) tend to make their appearances at special occasions. Some wear them all the time, and some should probably buy new ones more often. Just like the kilted community. You even sometimes see one or two wearing their hats backwards...
I grew up in Wranglers, boots and hats myself. In fact my family initially freaked when I went over to Kilts, Ghillie Brogues and bagpipes, as I like to joke, there is at least one Gaelic person in each family, even the best of ones.
When I got married, everyone in my wedding party had boots and hats. Only my piper did not have all this on well kilted along with his military doublet. I sort of regret not getting married Kilted, but my Texas traditions kind of got me there. I even had on my Bowie Knife under my jacket, which I pulled out to cut the wedding cake (kind of silly, but it worked).
