Head up to inverness, hang a left onto the river bank, and just start hiking! I've done the hike up the river, across the canal, and around the Loch, it's really a wonderful journey.

Boy, what is up with this weather?! We had a few great days there that got me thinking about Spring, and now it's spitting sleet again? I'm not sure if I'm up for biking Islay next week no matter how much whisky is waiting for me at the end of the ride. It's a shame too, I've been looking up routes between distilleries on google maps street view and it looks gorgeous. Anyway, so far we're booked for a few days on Mull, but I don't have any solid plans for after that yet.

Aye, you wouldn't have wanted to be out and about on your bike in central Scotland today. Proper blizzards and everything. That's British Summer Time for you, I suppose.
Enjoy every sandwich.

I nearly went out today anyway, with the kid on the back seat. I would have too, if it wasn't for the vicious wind and the sudden cold snap. My parenting style is to always ask myself "Will they come and take my kid away for this?" They might have today.
Well, we're still in Scotland until mid-July, so I should get to take advantage of some legitimate summer at some point. Of course, maybe this year it just won't stop snowing...almost wouldn't surprise me.

Matt,
Another bonny run, is up Glen Shiel, to Eilean Donnan.(Possibly spelling probems here!)
Think they call it "The road to the Isles"
Jock will know better than me. We used to visit this area most years, before the long trek west!

You’re in Uphall ? My brother was engaged to an Uphall girl in the 70’s. her name was Lucinda (Linda) Turner. She was a nurse.
More importantly, have you a photo of your Lambretta ? I was wanting to import a fully restored one here into Oman. I contacted Eddie Grimstead in East London about an original TV 200 restored in its war-paint of that time and without post-1965 additions.

Similar to the 2 above, it would cost about GBP 4,500. I was going for it, but unfortunately my kids’ school fees keep getting in the way !
Maybe next time. (You don’t have to wear a crash-helmet here, so I can die in their mad traffic accidents with my hair still perfect !)

Here's a long overdue update of my trip(s). We went along to Tobermory as planned, but then I put off my cycling for a bit. This last weekend I went out for an impromptu short bike tour, cycling 30 miles on Saturday then staying at a B&B and the cycling back along a different route on Sunday. Here are some pics:

And from the bike trip:

This was the first time I'd ever gone out for a long multi-day ride on my own on the bike. I can't wait to do it again. I'm certainly going to try to see a bit more of Scotland on 2 wheels before we finally leave in a few months.

Wow those are some fantastic photos! You have a great artistic eye.
My photos usually just look like holiday snaps.
You could sell photos like those. There's a photographer who always has a booth at the Highland Games around here. She/he travels around Scotland taking photos and sell prints of various sizes. His/hers are no more artistic than yours!
Dawn Treader! Nice!
