    1. How many Stillwater kilts do you own?
    None
    2. Why did you buy SWK? As opposed to other kilt makers.
Didn't because they only sell kilts on one length.
    3. What is the main use of your SWK?
I'd love a knock-around Blackwatch kilt, but don't want to chance it finding someone to alter a SWK for me...

I own two of them. Irish National Thrifty and Saffron Standard.

    Price and service.

Anywhere that I would wear a kilt.

I own one, heavy weight black shadow. I bought it as a first kilt, I didn't want to spend a bomb for something I'd might never wear again. Been buying bespoke sinse and haven't worn it since. Not selling it though in case I wish to wear a black shadow tartan for some reason.

    1. How many Stillwater kilts do you own?
    2 Thrifties, 1 Economy, 3 Standard
    2. Why did you buy SWK? As opposed to other kilt makers.
Price. My addiction to kilts , and the money I was willing to invest grew slowly. At this point any new kilts will be 16-18oz wool box pleat for formal, and USAK PV for casual.
    3. What is the main use of your SWK?
The thrifties I wear around the house, working in the yard etc,.
The economy and standards are for very casual outings such as running to the store, etc.
Except at work (as a consultant I can't allow my clothing to be the focus) I almost never wear bifucated garments any more.
I would definitely recommend Jerry's product for a beginner.

"1. How many Stillwater kilts do you own?"

6- 2 heavies, 2 standards an one thrifty.

"2. Why did you buy SWK? As opposed to other kilt makers."

The heavies- the price was right and I like the shadow tartan.
The standards- I didn't know any better and thought I would give the acrylic a try.
The Thrifty's- I wanted something to take with me to the swimming pool.

And frankly, if I mess up a Stillwater, it won't exactly break my heart. however, if I were to mess up my double box pleated ancient weathered MacLeod hunting, that would break my heart.

"3. What is the main use of your SWK?"

The heavies- everything. Formal occasions, they're great when it's cold out.
The Standards... I haven't worn those for quite some time, so I use them to divert moths from my good klothes.
The Thrifty's- I wear those when I attend water aerobics or go swimming in general.

I have one SWK green wool shadow tartan. Wouldn't mind trying the acrylic but I fear they might be a bit flimsy... and flammable.

I chose SWK because of the reputation for value and service but am also pleased with the quality. Sometimes you can get all three...

I got mine because I wanted a solid green kilt for Saint Pat's and it had to be wool because it is often chilly around that time of year.

As for the standard 24" length, it's easy to fix. My mom hemmed mine but I think any old seamstress or tailor ought to be able to do it.

    1. How many Stillwater kilts do you own?
    Two
    2. Why did you buy SWK? As opposed to other kilt makers.
I purchased then used at a fantastic price, so I would have to say the main reason for their purchase (besides wanting two more to add to my wardrobe) had to be a cost consideration..
    3. What is the main use of your SWK?
I wear them every where. When I get home from work and out of my uniform, I'm in a kilt. When I mow the lawn, I'm in a kilt. If i'm at home on my day off and not in a kilt, I'm naked.

    1. How many Stillwater kilts do you own?

Currently 3, Saffron Heavy, Nightstalker Standard, Black Economy.

I said 'currently' because I have owned 3 others that I have sold or traded away; an Irish National in both Standard and Economy, and a 'Weathered Lamont' heavyweight.

    2. Why did you buy SWK? As opposed to other kilt makers.

Price, easy avalibility, and the good reviews on this forum. One of the Standards was my first "fancy kilt" after getting started on Sport Kilts. They are a great way for the beginner to get a feel for a trad style kilt without spending more than 100 bucks.

    3. What is the main use of your SWKs?

I break out the Saffron Heavy for Irish stuff, casual or formal.

Truth be told, the Black Economy and Nightstalker Standard don't get used that much, other than for casual outings to see bands or at the Sci Fi con, or if I want to wear a lot of black. I have a few USA PV's that fit better etc.. I wear for most everything.
