Why don't you tell all those exes that your daughter is all the company you need, because she's more important than any new "trophy" (be sure to stress "trophy") manfriend you could have picked up, and you refuse to divert your attention from her just to have some man's arm to hold on to.
That is, if they ask...

I'm sure my wife would have lent me to you for the purpose, however you are at least 10 years too late [that's when I last could even be remotely considered "hunky"--I'm sure you didn't mean "bulky", which is what pertains presently], and hundreds of miles too far...
Besides, you are worlds better than your ex or anyone associated with him...I like Jock Scott's advice--Smile, Smile, Smile. The best revenge is not letting them see that any of it gets to you, but letting them see that you are just fine thank you very much....

Reason: word drop
"Before two notes of the theme were played, Colin knew it was Patrick Mor MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children'...Sad seven times--ah, Patrick MacCrimmon of the seven dead sons....'It's a hard tune, that', said old Angus. Hard on the piper; hard on them all; hard on the world." Butcher's Broom, by Neil Gunn, 1994 Walker & Co, NY, p. 397-8.

Wow. My wife would be dead against it and I would be dead but, were I not so fortunate as I am, I'd rush to NS considering it well worth it to visit with you and your grand land. Glad it went well. Head up! None can compare with a member of the Rabble.

You gotta feel proud for pulling that off. Good on ya.
Extra room....? Hmmmm, would love to poke around Skye Glen and look for cousins...maybe even find MY great great grandmother Mary Gillis' lineage...there were so many Mary Gillis' and so little interest in documenting women's existance back then.

Absolutely welcome anytime. You should know however, that the room is 3hrs away from Cape Breton. Still, it's closer than you are right now!
Been in NS for 16yrs, never met a Mary Gillis.

My husband (Civil Partner) wouldn't mind at all! There was an occasion when we were both asked to escort two women (Civil Partners) to their Caledonian Ball at a very exclusive club in London where two women are not allowed to dance together as partners! They knew we were good Scottish Country Dancers and had Prince Charlies and kilts etc. However we were expected to pay for the tickets. No way at £50 each.
Hope you found a suitable escort to your event.

I would have been honored had I been available (and could afford the airfare) ... but I was at the U.S. National Scout Jamboree at Ft. A.P. Hill, Fredericksburg, VA from 7/21 until yesterday (actually got home at 12:30 this morning).
