Great pictures of you kilted. But I am even more pleased to see that you now sport a beard (even if it is only a moustache and goatee!).
Regards,
Mike

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing.
My relatives love to visit Disney Sea. Ever been there?

Tess: The weather certainly CAN be a problem. Tokyo is no California (or Florida). But it IS interesting that they chose to cover Main Street.
Mike: That is my Vandyk. I've been doing it since college. The wife really likes it and I'm always happy to oblige. It usually comes and goes several times in a year, although most of my pics on XMTS have strangely been taken almost exclusively while cleanly (and I use the term loosely) shaven.
Standard: Do it! Go kilted! I got several nice compliments (one from a group of people where one fellow took the time to dress EXACTLY like Johnny Depp in "Alice in Wonderland" -- right down to the frizzy, red hair.... So it's clear that they were no strangers to drawing attention... ) My wife was also keenly aware of all the women checking me out, as she pointed it out to me on a few occasions. "See that? That group of girls was TOTALLY checking you out. Gotta be the kilt!"
Kiltboy: Disney Sea is great! I'd say I prefer it to Disneyland, as the there is more to capture the interest of adults... Lots of nice restaurants, shows & performances, a good variety of shops (there are rides too, but different from the ones at Disneyland)...
Whereas Disneyland seems to appeal more to the younger set (or the young at heart) with the way it's set up. Mind you, in Tokyo, the two theme parks are immediately next to each other, and if you have a Disney passport already pre-purchased you can choose which of the two parks you will visit, you cannot move freely between the two and the ticket is not transferable from one to the other after you've entered.
This time we chose to go to Disneyland mainly because our friends wanted to go there -- plus, I didn't mind, since I was keen to see the Christmas themed displays and I hadn't been since I went with my parents when I was a wee lad.

I was kilted when my wife and I visited WDW for our 22nd Anniversary last March. I was only kilted while at EPCOT, and really enjoyed the experience. Did get asked more than usual for directions and got asked by several to have my picture taken with them. My wife has mentioned the same effect that your wife has to you.
I hope to wear my kilt a couple of days this time around. The comfort factor alone is well worth it.

Okay, you call it a Vandyk. We call it a bokbaardjie, or bokkie for short.
PS: It takes its name from the artist Anthonij van Dijk.
