I bought a copy when it first came out a number of months ago, and while I've only skimmed it, it appears that Newark did a very good job in his research. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to know the history of "The Ladies from Hell". What I like is that he includes the history of not only the Highland Regiments of the British Army, but of those of Commonwealth nations, such as the Cape Town Highlanders of the Republic of South Africa.

I've had this book in my library for some months and find it very good as a general history of the Highland soldier. The author includes some interesting anecdotes and some quotes from Highland soldiers that I hadn't seen in other source material. I recommend it.
