I like that tartan. I would be interested in 5 yards (double width), assuming the price is right.

I would be a player for 4 yards double width, or 8 single, if the price is right.

Depending on price, I might be up for enough for a couple kilts. My dad wouldn't need to know how geeky the tartan is.

I have a question for the more experienced kiltmakers on here, regarding this tartan. Do you think this tartan would look better pleated to the stripe or the set?

I'll email Dalgliesh tomorrow AM to see if I can get a solid estimate for both single and double width, that way we've got the spectrum, both best and worse case.

I haven't given my feedback yet... But I'd probably be good for about 4 yards for a box pleat.
As to the name, I'll list the ones that have been mentioned, and that I like (in order of preference):
1. R'lyeh
2. Miskatonic (But spelled with a "k" -- which I believe is the more common rendition)
3. Insanity
4. Cthulhu

This tartan has an old and mysterious origin. It was designed by a mad sporran maker in Michigan earlier last century. Some say he lost his mind after deep diving and what he saw in the depths. He spent the rest of his years drinking himself numb to try and forget what cannot be unremembered.
Read about it for yourself:
