Tried to watch the season 1, first episode this weekend...ended up watching all of season 1

Glad I stumbled upon this thread.

I inherited a scarf with the same tartan as the young woman is wearing. Coincidence? I think not! If anyone can identify the tartan (if it's a registered one, which I never suspected), I would be most interested.

It’s not Iona’s green wellies that get my vote, but her green ideas.
Monarch of the Glen has been a regular feature on our satellite service, but I have lost track of it of late, which is a pity.
Glad to know you were able to give the wife the benefit of your X Marks learning, AA.
Goes to show that we do learn some useful knowledge around here.

Spartan Tartan: Wonderful, isn't it? My favorite episode in Season 1 stars "Mr. Slurpy" - "My Dad built ships, I sell ice cream!" I envy you the six more seasons ahead.

Afterward, you might want to try "Hamish Macbeth" (Scotland) and "Ballykissangel" (Ireland).

We just finished season three the other night and I totally forgot Stella, the woman from the bank who was supposed to straighten out Glenbogle (Alexandra Gilbreath). Definitely appealing (to me anyway) with the short business haircut, huge eyes and - shall we say - a trim but athletic build. She was a "bad guy" on the series but, hey, I thought that the Evil Queen in Disney's Snow White was hotter than the titular character anyway...
