I went home for lunch today and had a lovely surprise waiting for me at my doorstep. It was my first kilt from USA Kilts! This is a Semi Tradition Kilt in Oakleigh tartan and Poly/Viscous material. I couldn't resist trying it on real quick. I didn't have much time as I had to head back to the office. As one might expect, the kilt hangs much nicer on me than it does on the skirt hangers. As we say, the proof is in the pics:

Apron

Pleats

The apron has a nice taper to it and, although it is somewhat hidden in the above image, there is a nice fringe the length of the front apron. The P/V material feels like good quality while being nice and light weight. I really love how the pattern is set in the apron. It really sets off the pleats in the back from the apron in the front. The quality of the materials used seems top notch. I can't wait to get back home and wear it out tonight!

A little back story for anyone who cares
I went to Rocky a short while ago looking to commission a fully bespoke piece in a custom weave. Rocky was great about being patient with me and helping me make sure I provided the correct information. I decided I wanted a more casual kilt as well, so I ordered the kilt you see above at the same time. About a week ago I started getting worried that I had somehow measured incorrectly and called up Rocky. I asked him if he would hold off on stitching my 'tank' and send me the Semi-Trad first so I could put it on and make sure my measurements were correct before continuing with the 'tank.' Rocky assured me that if I followed his simple instructions that I wouldn't have anything to worry about. I just wanted to be sure; you know?

More pics to follow and more input about the garment as I wear it.

Thanks Rocky & Co.!

Cheers,
-J
