When I saw this tartan I thought it would look nice box-pleated to show the grey stripes and hide the blue, so the blue would flash as you walk. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Congratulations, Paul - I saw the e-mail about this yesterday morning and, like Mookien, I thought it was elegant. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Brian

Thank you, designing the tartan is the key thing, although there are only a few weavers who will undertake special runs, getting the design right is the most important thing. If you are not used to tartan it would be a good idea to canvas opinon from kiltmakers as not every design works well when turned into a kilt.Yes it's not cheap, but you are getting something very special for yourself.
I'm very happy to talk about designing or commissioning a tartan further, but I'm sure there are other kiltmakers who would be happy to help as well.

Re: A new tartan
Thank For the Info , I want to one day soon design something I can call my own for my children to have one day.
I have both Scottish on my mothers side ( Ferguson ) and Norwegian on my Fathers side ( HouKaas )
I would like to get a Combined Tartan ( One Day )
Congrats on your Tartan -It looks great and I am happy you all ready have it in Material . I would be going insain to trun it in to a Kilt .
I think until it was a Kilt I would just drap all 8 yards around me and walk around every where with it .

Congrats Paul! What a beautiful tartan you made, and so complex. I really like the colors and looking forward to see how the tartan will turn out in a real cloth.

Nice tartan. I really like the colours. I can't wait to see a picture of this made into a kilt.
