    The shillelagh or stick was made for me by a disabled veteran. It is a piece of driftwood that he found on the Brazos River in Texas. The detail is burned in and painted over and then varnished. At the top are the letters USAF and the American flag.


    Near the middle is a four leaf clover and the numbers 64 - 94 for the years that I was in the Air Force.

    The last photo shows the whole stick.

    You are correct. That is a Strategic Air Command pin. My father was stationed at Barksdale when I was born and then I spent 18 of my 30 yrs assigned to SAC. The two biggest lies told in SAC were when the Inspector General (IG) showed up and the Wing Commander said "Welcome" and the IG replied "We're here to help you."

    Looks great! Now I really got to sew up the X Marks tartan I have!
