Took me about 2 days, off and on, including hand-stitching the hem (which had to wait for daylight, no doing that type of work at night any more!).

Got to Ventura to find that the memory card for my camera was still in the computer at home, so have some cell phone shots of my Friday night and Saturday day ensembles which I will post when I have the chance.

I'm hooked and looking at my own stash for the next victim!

You looked fab on Sat, Sydnie7! The XMTS tartan is really cool! I hadn't seen it in person before.
Your skirt had a great swish, too.

Thank you, Alan! It was so good to see you there. We'll have to steal you away from your throwing buddies for a get-together one of these times!

And fun meeting Stacy aka GoodGirlGP, I got one cell-phone snap of her that I'll post in the Games thread.

Hey there stranger, welcome back to the dark side. *cue evil laugh while sinisterly twirling hypothetical evil moustache* Oh, there's an icon for that...

Thanks for posting that, I'm totally putting it on facebook as evidence.

For some reason I had thought that the fabric was cur on the bias all around, but it looks like only the front is diagonal, then "straightens out" around the sides. I really like it, sydnie.

Thank you! Yes, the side seam allowance is the selvedge while the curve of each gore means the center seam is somewhat biased (shallower than 45 degrees). Makes two of the seams easier to sew LOL

Meghan, if I only had the time. . . but I'm afraid I don't. There are many other sewers on the board who might take you up on it, tho!

Re: Ladies' skirt in the XMarks tartan

Thank you, all! Here are the cell phone photos from Ventura Games (seems I left the camera memory card in the PC at home...)

    Friday night finery

Saturday daywear ensemble, with my new/now hubby Bob (bigdad1)

There are definitely more tartan skirts in my future but this one will be hard to beat -- such a beautiful sett!
