    Matt's post is spot on. He says it all. You get what you pay for, the devil is in the details. Look carefully at the quality and ask appropriate questions to get answers to the points raised by Matt.

    And you can occasionally find complete bargains on ebay of a quality traditional kilt in the right size.

    Ahhh... your last post beat me to it.

    With the way the mill pricing on wool keeps creeping up, MM will soon be about the same as everyone else on pricing.

    In the details for sure! What kind of thread is holding the kilt together? Who wants to sell you this kilt? Are they a trained kiltmaker, a middleman/jobber - and if the later who is sewing up the kilts for them and how long are you gonna wait for it?

    You can have any two of price, quality, or service.

    I don't understand the expectation that kilts should be priced the same - any more so than flat caps, jackets, sporrans, kilt hose, shoes should be priced the same.

    Its up to us to learn, then make our choices.
