DWFII - Al certainly knows his stuff about historic shoes - I have his book on the subject and occasionally meet him at reenactments.
I regularly attend the DC Big Flea (antique show) at Dulles Expo Center (Chantilly, Virginia) and will occasionally see 18th c. shoe buckles for sale - not in the pristine condition yours are in, but some pairs are close. For reenactment purposes, I prefer to use reproduction shoe buckles - if they would be savaged by rough use, it wouldn't break my heart.
