Super pics, Jamie, very colourful and cheery, a splendid way to start off the Christmas season of goodwill.

Great waistcoat Jamie. Looks like you have been doing some work on the mustache too.

    What tartan is that?
That is the Nicholson muted hunting tartan made by a smaller mill named Batleys. it is a 5 yard wool kilt by Rocky at USA Kilts. I had wanted a Nichol tartan kilt in honor of my wife's clan (she is a Nichol which is listed sometimes as a sept of clan Mcleod of Lewis). I had emailed Rocky about the possibly of getting one in PV. He told me that while he couldn't do poly viscose he was thinking of getting some Nicholson wool tartan for himself in this much less common variant of the tartan. The online swatch looked terrible but Rocky assured me that in person it was gorgeous.

Now Rocky had never steered me wrong and I thought to myself how fun it would be to order a kilt where you didn't know exactly what the tartan looked like. My faith in Rocky was rewarded as the Nicholson muted hunting is probably the most gorgeous tartan kilt I have (of course I have yet to receive my Heatherfield tartan kilt from Barb ).

The moral of the story is...trust your kiltmaker! They know what they are talking about.

    Cheers

I have been working on my "wooffly" Victorian beard and handlebar mustache since Halloween (I was Paladin from "Have Gun, Will Travel" and shaved to just a mustache). I have never had a fuller beard or a handlebar before before. But in earlier this Fall Star and I got to travel up to Napa to meet up with another X Marker who proved to be a bad influence...

    Cheers
