    Jim,

I have been on the lookout for a sporran sized book of Burns poetry. Where did you find it?

    Cheers

I can't remember where I got mine, but here are a couple of oportunities:

    http://www.amazon.com/Poetical-Works...7116420&sr=1-2

    http://www.amazon.com/Little-Leather...7116420&sr=1-3

And here's a really nice one in tartan from the same Thistle Library as the Rob Roy book:

    May buy this one myself.

Funny how so many of us often have these common threads (no pun intended)
    This was my grandmothers.

Interesting that it's a Gordon Tartan, as I have not been able to find any family ties associated with Gordon. Perhaps she just liked the colors?

For most of the tartan bound books I have seen, there seems to be no correlation between the tartan on the cover, the content of the book, and the heritage of the owner.

There is a book in the collection of the Scottish Tartans Museum that is about the Cameron clan tartans, and it is tartan bound - in MacGregor!

When I saw this I said "hey, I have something like this"

google search puts it at around 1913 but there is nothing inside tellling what edition it is so I guess it could have been printed pretty recently.
    Still in pretty good shape.
