Very nice! Keep me in mind for the future. I run a embroidery machine so I may be able to help.
    Keep up the good work.

    Sounds interesting.
Carved candles with tartan come to mind... Just a thought.

that would be awesome!!! (P.S. love your LOTR signature. You and I both have one now!) I wouldnt know the first thing about making a tartan candle The second I figure it out, I will give it a shot!

I wonder if I could just paint it...

Thanks everyone else for your support. And I dont think I would be crossing any lines about religion since many members have asked about Clergy tartan, etc. As long as we dont get into any debates, it should be within the rules Thanks for the heads up though!

You might try drawing the tartan with crayons; I don't know.

LOL. The snobby people on the candle making forum would have a stroke if I did that. They yelled at me for using crayons at all while making candles.

Check this out. I found a blog that shows Celtic candle creations: http://uniquecelticgifts.blogspot.co...1_archive.html

And thanks Father Bill!! God Bless my amazingly beautiful and wonderful Christian brothers and sisters too!

Omg look at this one. Its tartan and has a thistle at the top! I want!

I think the pillow, and the fusion consept itself, are both fantastic!

Reminds me a bit of something that Ferguson Britt came up with, a while ago. Me and him are both Nipponophiles, he because he lived there for 16 years, and I because I've studied Japanese martial arts for 22 years.

Anywhoo, him being a sporran maker, he thought of facing a sporran with a traditionally Japanese material (in this case, ray skin... same stuff that the hilt of a katana is wrapped in). I love it, because like your project, it seems a great way to bring the two cultures together in a classy and meaningful manner.

Bravo and keep up the crafting!

EDIT: Just in case someone hasn't seen one of these yet, here:

thats awesome!! I love fusions. It helps to remind people that things dont need to be kept in such strict little boxes. Muslims can be Scottish and Irish, Japanese leather can be sporrans, etc.

Helps us remember we all are connected

Do you mean like this, Meghan? Joe Macdonald at Gung Haggis Fat Choy a couple of years ago.
