That my work better for us with less rushed schedule, less cab time, a chance for Wife and The Boy to take a midday recovery break, and a better opportunity to actually sit down and share a meal and/or drinks with the NC rabble who are able to attend. As stated above other nights (except Thursday) would work as well for us. Thanks again for your consideration to the kilted weary wanderers.

    Re: SF kilt night

There may be an "official" After-Tartan-Day-Dinner at the Vine (Elises birthday place) in Niles. Then again, there may NOT be...it's hard to say, and that's a LONG way from San Francisco, it's not practical to get there via public transportation.

For me, personally, I would probably have to be late to the dinner, or miss it because I will be breaking down and loading the throwing equipment in my truck (and probably Bethany's as well) and hauling it home. However, having an After Games Dinner is a spanking great idea, whether I can make it or not, and you all ought to pursue it.

What would help me personally, and this is just me...there are others to consider... would be if we had a dinner in someplace like San Mateo, but *really* close to a BART station so that Forester Modern and his family could get there without breaking the bank on cab fare. But again, this is just me and there are 8-12 other people to think about here.

Is this event still on? I'll be at The Chieftain on Sunday, April 15th and buy a round at 3:00 p.m.

Connie and I are in for a dinner in the city after the event. Jeff and family would likely need some time to unwind after his flight anyway. Another option, that may be even more practical given the different time and location issues, would be a Sunday brunch in the city on the 15th ?

We will likely be in the neighborhood for the whole weekend, without any hard commitments, so can work around just about anything.

Since many of us don't make it to Jeff's neighborhood very often, hopefully we can give him a nice NorCal welcome while he is here.

Let me know where and when, we'll be there.

    Cheers,
    Brooke

Well how about Walkerk's idea of Sunday afternoon at the Chieftain. Meet and have brunch at the Chieftain. They have a great scottish eggs breakfast. I will be there for sure, hope a lot of other xmarkers will make it also.

Right now Sunday is wide open for us, so all we need is a time and a place, and we will figure out our own transport to and from. Thanks for setting this up and all the hospitality and consideration in advance. We are really looking forward to pressing the flesh and sharing beverages and repast with as many of the famous and infamous Norcal Rabble as can get there. Besides I think I owe Alan at least a beer or six for jerking his chain on my other thread this afternoon.

Excuse My Tangent....I used to live on Mason between Sutter and Bush and just love San Francisco. It's good to see such a good number of active kilties in the Bay Area, here in LA it doesn't seem as active. BTW, Jeff I am 20 minutes or so south of LAX so if you are ever in this neck of the woods you're always welcome.

Thanks for the invite, and I will remember it. Unfortunately the closest I have ever been to LAX is the Ontario airport into which I flew en route to some meetings in Palm Springs. Although I do make it to San Diego fairly regularly and particulalry love the LaJolla area, but that is still probably two hours south of you. One day, however. Thanks.

    Re: SF kilt night

Either Sunday brunch on the 15th or Sat Night on the 14th works for me. I might be a bit late on Sat Night, as I have to break down all the athletics equipment and get it back to my house, but I expect I can get there by 7:30.

The potential after-Tartan Day dinner is apparently not panning out, so I'm open.

It looks like Sunday April 15 around 2-3 is the preferred time. I hope to see a lot of you there. Please don't forget your cameras, no pics it didn't happen.
