Interesting observation Chas, about the "tartanlessness". I do not frequent Highland Games often and it must be some twenty years since I last visited one, which was also at Blair and I think the picture gives a false impression. If you forget(how can we?) the "Army of Atholl" and various competing pipers and such wandering about, I had a distinct impression that more tartan in the form of kilts were present than I remember. Commonplace? Well perhaps not, but more common than in the past, I think.
I am sorry to have missed you Tam, but it was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise to bump into Troy and his wife again and of course to meet up with the brave and impressive Sue and her charming daughter too. It was a shame that I had to leave so soon.
