So much to see for sure. And the Yellowstone book is a good one too. Many have followed the Death in the Grand Canyon book. As much a warning primer as tales of interest.

I can't recall the specifics, but back in the 20s a guy came out to paint pictures of the Grand Canyon and loved it so much he never went home. Its just a couple hours from me - even the same distance to the North Rim as to the South Rim...but there is soooo much else...but I'm proud to have been kilted to both rims repeatedly and to Havasupai once....trekin' on in...

In my younger days. Next trip to Supai is gonna be by helicopter...scenic, fast, and easy...

And a great way to field test Utilikilt's modesty toggles....

one might also note - it seems that my brother was wearing his Royal Airforce Tartan when he attempted to take flight...

hmm... climbing a rock in close proximity to the abyss while wearing spring loaded, 007-style-ejection-seat shoes and an aeronautical tartan... factor in the high likelyhood of answering "the question" for an untold amount of tourists on the way down exponentially increasing the odds of the obvious happening...

and so it appears one of the strongest genetic traits in our lineage is living to tell the story..

Glad you weren't hurt to bad!!! As a hiker/trailrunner/mountaineer I know we all have our famous "Ta Da" moments, some witnessed and fortunately some not. My thought is this about life and growing older "I occasionally have to skin my knees, proves Im still a kid and out playing hard outside".... Hike safe and keep the kilt down.

Glad nothing too serious happened and since you're ok, I can joke and say that at least with a kilt, one would have the possibility of parachuting to safety.

Glad you're still in one piece, though, and have an interesting anecdote about it. You'll get drinks in bars for years out of that one.
