    thanks all, i thoroughly enjoy spending the weekend living the life of a soldier of the 42nd in the french and indian war. i keep getting new things to go with my kit and soon ill have a belted plaid to go with it

    Campbell, were belted plaids worn by the 42nd during the F&I war?

    yes they were they were actually issued belted plaids and if the commanding officer wanted to if the plaids were getting worn out could order new plaids for his soldiers and as the war came twords the end they wore the phillabeg instead because of ease of wearing and wore the belted plaid for inspection and other more formal things
