Personally, I'd add the tassels. I think it gives a daywear sporran some visual interest and breaks up the plain front. But honestly, it's fine with or without the tassels.
    Hahahaha!!! You know it, brother!

This confirms what I was thinking. Thanks one and all. No buyers remorse here . My current day sporran is black and I wanted something in brown but didn't want it to look like every second sporran.

Artificer, I wouldn't dream of wearing this with my Charlie or one of my formal doublets as I have two sporrans that would be far more appropriate for that.

I think I'll wear it without the tassels until I find a really inexpensive source for them or learn to make them by hand. The kilt shop near where I live charges quite a bit for replacement leather tassels, when they even have them, then there's the cost of having them put on. Going that route would make the sporran nearly as costly as if I had purchased it new. My old regimental day sporran had no tassels and looked ok to me.

Fate will probably throw me a good deal on tassels some time down the road. Either that or I'll learn how to do that marvelous knot myself...

You could always inquire with Scott (Artificer) in regards to having tassels made and put on (properly). His leatherwork and sporran making abilities are beyond this world! I'm sure he could help you out if you are keen down the road.

    Cheers,

So the sporran arrived today and it's like 3/4 of the size of my black day sporran. The sporran measures 6.25 x 6.5 '' tall whereas my other sporrans are around 7.5 by 7. Did I accidentally purchase a boy's sporran? :S

Nice find, Mate. I personally don't care for noisy tassells so I removed them from the 2 I found bothersome . I then cut a small hole in the centre and interchange various badges as my mood dictates. Works for me anyway
I'll not be lied to , stolen from or laid a hand upon. I do this to no man and I require the same in return.
