My wool kilts are stored in pillow cases, and then hung up. It keeps the moths at bay, but yet they still get air. So far, knock on wood, so good.

I keep my kilts hanging inside hermetically sealed garment hangers. Inside I have moth cakes. Also, I have a cedar Lane chest in which I keep my woolen hose and sweaters.

Will moths eat wool blends? Why do they eat wool in the first place? Will they eat other textiles?

According to the University of Kentucky, yes, moths will eat wool blends.
As for why they eat it, apparently "they’re hungry and they like the taste of wool."

Wear your kilts often...moths can't eat them when they are being swished about!

I keep mine in zippered plastic suit carriers with an unscented moth killer card in each carrier, same as other woolens. Keeps the dust off too!

I've used a cedar lined chest to hang my kilts in for years, and I've never had a problem.

Can't saythe same for two wool suits I left in a closet unprotected!
