You look good, and I'm glad you weren't discouraged.
I hadn't even considered the kids before I wore it over there, so in hindsight I should have seen that one coming. The comments from my grandfather and uncle I fully expected, there's no way they could pass up such an easy opportunity. In fact, I'm pretty sure every uncle and male cousin that I have is going to give me a hard time about it when they see it. They'll have to get used to it eventually though, because I have every intention of wearing it to every family event we have from here on.

Glad you could roll with the punches. It will "wear off" the more they see you in it. If your family has a hunting tartan, a formal dress tartan etc... You could get the one brother one a little different from you and your other brother. Just a thought.

I wish that we did, for that very reason. I could probably do that with the two that we do have

Our name is actually Welsh rather than Scottish, so we don't have hunting, formal, ancient, etc. There are two different tartans associated with the name, but the newer one is just a different tartan made by a guy that didn't feel the previous one represented the name/family well. I could probably pull that off with these, though.

Good on you mate. Nice one!! Takes a bit of bottle first time, especially when it's out of the blue but hey, as everyone else has said, it gets to be normal. When people comment 'cause you're not in a kilt, then you know you've cracked it.

Congratulation, you did very well! I noticed the plaid on the shorts too, rather ironic!
