As of my last delivery, I've now ordered 5 hand made wool kilts, and have come to feel, and think that the wait is part of the process. And a part to be enjoyed. At the moment I don't have a kilt on order, but the next MacGregor tartan that I want (red & black, also known as Rob Roy) will take about 13 +weeks to deliver, and while I'm really looking for having that "next kilt" I'm also looking forward to watching the weeks click off while I anticipate its delivery.
I visualize the waiting period from order to deliver, as part of the "birth of a kilt"... I like all aspects of the process.

I hear complaints over here in America about service all the time. However, my three hand made kilts were made by Kilt Makers that were SUPER and PROFESSIONAL from beginning to End.

Three nice kills John and it was well worth the wait (but not the frustration!). My favorite is the Black Isle. I love the sheen you get on Marton Mills Jura cloth.
The Kilt is my delight !

English Blokes Talk
Well done. Thought I rambled on.Atleast you keep the thread.
Am now rethinking this Black Cornish Kilt made in glasgow thing.
answer might be 8 yard 16oz Dark Tartan or high waisted unused ex military.
I want something warm and hard wearing for winter.
Speaking of service I buy fishing gear , chain and engine spares overnight by Phone and Plastic Santa payment.
That dummy sgien dubh from Scotweb amazed me.
Despatch scotland 4 pm. arrive Weymouth south coast UK 9am by overnight parcel post Guarenteed Delivery. Costly at £5 postage but I needed it in a hurry as I was going away.
Seems as if that section of Scotwebb was run by one Swedish Girl in a wearhouse.
Still I got the goods fit for purpose in a hurry. Roddy

Three wonderful kilts! Lad you have the addiction in the same way as many of us. I on the other hand have my addiction under control... I only have 21!

Good Grief, John! No wonder you've been away- you've been kilt shopping the whole time!
Lovely new additions to the ever-increasing collection. You'll be rivaling Hamish's collection any day now.

Congratulations on your new kilts!
I am rather partial to the Black Isle. However, at the moment, I need to achieve more waistline stability before investing in additional kilts.
