It is so very odd viewing Earth in the same manner in which we are accustomed to viewing Mars. AMAZING... yet odd.

I pray for one last landing on the globe that gave me birth
Let me feast my eyes on the fleecy skies and the cool green hills of Earth.

Pictures like that really help put things in a new perspective. And that's just about as cool as you can get!

Am I the only one thinking what a waste of money? Surely all that money could be put to better use? There are people dying of hunger today on our own streets. Photos like that do make you think, though.

I ask that we please not engage in discussion of this topic. I can imagine that a lot of strong feelings would be expressed on both sides of the issue, and I did not post this remarkable photo to trigger a contentious discussion. If it goes that way, I will ask the mods to delete the thread.

I don't know. It looks like Mars to me.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

It is Mars - McClef was just saying that it reminded him of different photo, one of the Earth from the Moon.

I know it will come as a shock to regular readers, but I was just kidding. Or, perhaps I was referring to the camera's host planet.
And, I do need glasses - filled with single malt. Slainte!
Thanks for posting the pic, Barb.
