Thanks Paul. I was also upset with Sock Dreams for dropping their better line of hose. I may be "wiry in stature" but I have thick stumps to support my thin branches.

I've worn these a number of times and they're great. Love 'em. I now have four pairs of "dressy" kilt hose, including two that are hand-knit. My proverbial cup runneth over.

I've bought several pair of those from a vendor out of Arizona (Kerr's Kilts), that comes to the games in Texas. They don't say they are for wide calf, but they work.
My only complaint is the foot is a little small. I have only a 10 1/2 foot, but the heel ends up under my heel.
