Good grief Glen, don't let ANYONE every say a word about kilts being a weird fashion, not if they are wearing all that strange stuff.
I like men being men, but that doesn't mean we have to be drab, there is a place for gay clothing and kilts fit the bill very nicely.

Graham,
I hear what you are saying. Andy the guy who came up to me is such a nice guy, but a bit off the wall. He really does not understand the masculinity of kilt wearing, but he does say it really looks masculine on me. I know it is hard for me to understand at times also, but I think what really got him was the one I was dancing with was his girlfriend. In retrospect I feel he was trying to regain his "territory", it comes back to the alpha male syndrome. We are still good friends.

Another example of differences in regional vernacular. It wasn't so much what was said but who said it!
(Sorry Graham)

What did I say? that wasn't even a joke!!
You mean the "gay" bit? I meant gay as in happy/colourful/lively...the original use of the word.
I could rightly say that I feel gay when i put a kilt on. and you can say wot you like about that!!

An living example of language evolution. In North America at least, the use of the word "gay", is now exclusively used in reference to ones "orientation". This has only happened in the last 35 years.
