Very neat and very cool. I love older dress, especially in regards to Highland dress. Old images of this period are a lot of what inspires my dress today!! OC Richard is rocking the info for you. Also, if you have not seen the dozens of pages here... http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...-photos-43316/

OC Richard is always good for such information.
I just pulled the trigger on that sporran. It's a synthetic, but since it will likely only see use about once or twice a year, I think it will work for my purposes.

Nice! I need to make a cool, older style sporran this winter. Perhaps when the muskrat and beaver hides return from the tannery, I will build something cool!

Personally I'm not a fan of those synthetic Pakistani sporrans (or, really, of any Pakistani sporrans).

Ebay is acting up on me at the moment. In all truth, I'm not too particular about the country of origin on my items (for the most part), but it's the synthetic thing that's bothering me. Should I keep this portrayal up, I will be upgrading. Right now this is just a temporary piece to hold me over. The one I actually wanted was more period and about $100 more. Though it was still a fair price, it was just out of reach since my wife is still working on her kit at this time. Besides, the AmCiv portrayal that I want to do is a Union Chaplain. That is where my money will be going soon enough and unfortunately kilts don't go with that one. It will be expensive as I will have to have two of some pieces; the regs for chaplains change between 1861 and 1864.

I have some photos of possible takes on this kit in this thread: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...11#post1256511
Due to the fact that many of the images have weapons in them, I thought it best to post them in the weapons sub-forum. Then if there are any thoughts shared on the various blades, it won't get the thread closed.
