A "Jones" is an urban term that I believe started in the 1960's which describes a craving, fixation or strong desire. I think it was originally about drugs but I'm not sure. There was a comedic song about a "Basketball Jones" which was about needing to play basketball all the time. One source says it referred to Jones Alley, in Manhattan, associated with drug addicts.
