Novelty buckles are cheap ($20-$30US) and easy to find at a lot of the youth clothing stores (GAP, American Eagle Outfitters, etc.). This is a pic of my buckle, which is a working bottle opener. (I only open bottles with it when I'm in my Utilikilt, don't want to spill beer on my tartan).[/img]

But instead of doing that, and since nobody wants to hear that kind of thing, I'll just shut up.
I think it's Lucanus cervus

As a fellow entomologist, I am also occasionally annoyed at the confusion of bugs with other non-hemiptera orders of insects. :P
Anyone else have a favorite order? My favorite is odonata, especially of the sub-order anisoptera. Although I do have a care for members of the order hymenoptera a great deal. (I swear there's no need to delete Hank, those are valid terms and all hypothetical double-entendres are purely coincidental

You just can't go wrong with ol' Odonata. Everybody in the entire world loves them, and why not?
Beautiful. Just beautiful!
While I've always been terribly impressed with hymenopterans as an order, I'm still [yes, STILL] creeped out by them. I can't help it.
My favourite dragonfly family will always be Libellulidae. To understand why, you'll have to picture yourself lying by a stream in Quebec on a perfect august afternoon with an absurdly lovely young lady pronouncing that name with her enchanting accent. And the smile on her lips as it landed right on me. I'll never see one without smiling.
Sorry for boring everyone that isn't zeytoun.
