    Yay, grammar!
Anyway, just so you know the reason why the norm is to start at the outer apron, it's so that you can center the pattern on the outer apron to look nice.
By the time you get to the end, you've got little control over where the pattern's going to sit on the apron, but when it's the under apron it's not important.

But if the other way is working for you, then more power to you!

    Good luck!

I've added photos of the fabric to my gallery.

Pay no attention to the color balance. I'm working in my dining room, which has very sexy lighting.
My digital camera doesn't like sexy lighting. Eh.

But I think you can see the dimensions of sett I'm working with.

    Thanks all!

    Pleating monster

Thanks to all, I have tighter pleats roughed in now. But indeed do I fear the next step- pressing them in to the straight and proper. Stitching no bother me so much. Straight pins! Heat! Steam! Fingers! Arrrrgh.

If I had one of these, pleats would vex me so much less than they do now...

    HAHAHAhahahahahah! Heh.

Addicted? You tink you addicted? Set down, m'boy...

    Good luck with your fingers.

And no doubt you'd want to hire a 4-hour kilt-stitcher, Steve! It takes me considerably longer than that, I tell you.
