You have excellent tastes in tartans IMHO, both of those are beautiful.

Last year at a local Highland Games I saw a couple walking along, husband and wife in matching kilts in a striking tartan I'd not seen before. I had to compliment them and ask the tartan, and was told it was Edinburgh District.

I just now looked at images of Edinburgh District online, and they just don't do justice to how beautiful the tartan is in person.

Thank you Richard, I have familial ties with both of these tartans so I'm afraid the selection was not a matter of my taste but simply good fortune.
