Although I had done a lot of genealogical research and knew I had roots in both Ireland and Scotland, I wasn’t sure which tartan to choose so I just went with the Black Watch.
Since then I’ve done more research and I can trace my family through the Hamiltons, straight back to Walter FitzGilbert Hamilton. So my next kilt (Soon!) will be a Hamilton tartan!
I retired from the Navy after 30 years, hence the screen name!
